Learn about our owner Dr. Lindsey D. Jackson
Dr. Jackson is the co-owner and practicing veterinarian at Mayo Town and Country Animal Hospital. A native of Lafayette County, Dr. Jackson lived and worked on his family’s dairy and poultry farms as he pursued his high school and undergraduate education. After graduating from Lafayette High School in 1990, Dr. Jackson pursued a career that shared his love for animal welfare and care. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, specializing in Dairy and Poultry Science. In 1998, he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jackson moved back to his hometown of Mayo in 1999 and opened Mayo Town and Country Animal Hospital. Dr. Jackson is active in many local community organizations and strives to promote excellence in veterinary care through various projects and presentations in the community and public schools. He actively pursues his interests in small animal medicine. Dr. Jackson values you as a client and believes in treating you and your animals with excellence, respect, and dignity. He lives with his wife Heather and three energetic sons in Mayo.

Dr. Jackson’s wife, Mrs. Heather C. Jackson, serves the practice as co-owner and Administrator of Mayo Town & Country Animal Hospital. She is also a native of Lafayette County and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1993. Heather pursued the profession of Occupational Therapy which allowed her to combine her love of pets and the use of pets as a therapeutic approach to promote human health and wellness. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1998 with a Bachelor of Health Science In Occupational Therapy With Highest Honors. Heather graduated from Southeastern University with a Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning with Highest Honors. Heather uses animals in her pediatric Occupational Therapy practice to promote emotional bonding and socialization.
